Step 1: Find out if you are eligible

Provinces and territories can also recruit candidates from the Express Entry pool through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) to meet local labor market needs.

- passport or travel document
- language test results
- education credential assessment report if
- you’re applying through the Federal Skilled Workers program, or
- you want to get points for the education you got outside Canada
- provincial nomination (if you have one)
- written job offer from an employer in Canada (if you have one)
Required documents to apply for permanent residence:
- police clearance certificates
- medical exams
- proof of funds
Step 3: Submit your profile
- You should give your information about yourself to prepare your Express Entry profile.
- If you are eligible, then your profile will be taken into the pool of candidates
- You will be ranked using a point-based system; you will get your score points based on your information.
Step 4: Receive an invitation and apply for permanent residence
If you are eligible and receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence, you need to submit all the required documents within 60 days after receiving the application.
Generally, most applications with all supporting documents will complete within 6 months.
